Questions people actually ask
What kind of app is this, honestly?
It's a voice-calling platform. People pay by the minute to have a conversation with someone who's willing to talk — about their day, their problems, cricket, anything. You are never expected to be anything other than yourself, and anything sexual or explicit is against our community guidelines and gets accounts removed. If a call goes somewhere you're not comfortable with, you hang up and block. You will never be penalised for ending a call.
Will anyone find out it's me?
You choose your display name, and it does not have to be your real one. There is no photo and no video anywhere in the app. Your phone number is never visible to anyone you speak to, and it's never shared or sold. The only thing another person knows about you is the name you picked and the interests you chose to list.
What if nobody calls me?
That's a fair worry, and we won't answer it with a promise we can't keep. What we can tell you is how we're opening: the founding group goes live before we let callers in at scale, and we're keeping that group small on purpose, so the first hosts here aren't competing with a crowd for the same calls. Beyond that, what you earn depends on the hours you keep. We're not going to pretend otherwise.
How and when do I get paid?
Your earnings land in your Yawr wallet as each call ends. Withdraw to any UPI ID once you're above the minimum: ₹50 for founding members, ₹100 otherwise. Withdrawals are processed by hand right now, so we're careful rather than instant. During launch week we're staffed to turn them around the same day.
Do I need to be available at fixed times?
No. There is no shift, no minimum hours, and no penalty for going quiet for a week. You go online when you feel like talking and you're invisible when you don't.
What does it cost me?
Nothing, at any point. There's no joining fee, no deposit, and no subscription. If anyone ever asks you to pay something to work on Yawr, it isn't us. Please tell us immediately.
